Our Bedaya Bridges Initiative (BBI) is made up of three powerful projects: A Bag of Hope, Festive Joy for Every Child, and Warmth for Every Home. Each one responds to urgent needs with compassion and dignity. Learn more about each project in the sections below.
A Bag of Hope
Every child deserves the chance to start the school year with confidence, excitement, and the tools to thrive. New Bedaya’s “Bag of Hope” initiative equips vulnerable and low-income elementary students with brand-new backpacks and essential school supplies, ensuring they enter the classroom with pride, dignity, and a sense of belonging. This simple gesture ensures no child feels left behind giving them not just materials, but motivation, dignity, and a strong start to the school year.
The impact goes beyond pencils and notebooks. For many families, back-to-school costs create impossible choices between food, rent, or supplies. By easing this burden, we uplift children and bring relief and renewed hope to their parents. When a child feels prepared and valued, their motivation and self-esteem soar and so does their future.

Warmth for Every Home
No family should face winter without warmth. As freezing nights descend, many vulnerable families, especially those living in fragile wooden homes or makeshift shelters, struggle to stay warm. For them, the cold is more than discomfort; it’s a threat to health, sleep, and dignity. Through the New Bedaya “Warmth for Every Home” initiative, we provide thick, warm blankets to families in desperate need. This simple act delivers physical comfort, emotional relief, and protection from the dangers of freezing temperatures.
One blanket can mean everything. It can guard a child against illness, give a parent peace of mind, and turn a cold, sleepless night into one of safety and rest. More than a layer of warmth, it is a message of compassion, a reminder that they are not alone, even in the harshest season.

Festive Joy for Every Child
The holidays, Christmas and Easter, should be times of joy, belonging, and celebration for every child. These special seasons are meant for gathering with family and friends, attending church, and creating cherished memories. Sadly, for many young people from very poor families, these moments are overshadowed by the inability to afford even the simplest clothes or shoes. Instead of excitement, they often feel left out, lonely, and sad during what should be the happiest times of the year.
One outfit can change a child’s entire holiday. Through our Festive Joy for Every Child initiative, New Bedaya is committed to changing that story. We provide brand-new clothes and shoes to children and youth from struggling families, making sure they can attend family gatherings and church and join in the celebrations with dignity and happiness. A new shirt, pants, and shoes may seem simple, but for these kids, they are a ticket to confidence, inclusion, and unforgettable holiday moments. This support not only lifts the spirits of the children but also brings relief and hope to their families, reminding them that their community cares.
